Idea Validation in Co-Creating SaaS Startups

While idea validation may not guarantee the product acceptance, it leads to a solid understanding of the business problem, users who cares about the problem and major assumptions. Thanks to open-source technologies and online tools, the cost of launching a technology startup declined from $5 million in the year 2000 to less than $5,000 today. Today, funding is no longer a prerequisite for launching and growing your startup ideas.

  • Define the problem space – who, what
  • Interview users and define why they care about this problem
  • Understand one or several possibilities to monetize when the problem is solved
  • Understand the current market and companies solving that problem
  • Build the wire frames and see how user can complete a single task (pain point)
  • Validate with potential users (10-15 minimum); learn; and iterate
